Survey Project Management Course Conducted Overseas for Elevate Offshore (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia)
Suffolk Survey & Subsea Services Ltd. (S4), an Innovatum Ltd. Group Company, conducted a 3-day Survey Project Management Course during 19th-21st November, with issued attendance Certificates for Elevate Offshore fixed contractors, freelancers & other key client senior personnel – all looking to career progress, further their options into onshore project management or enhance their existing PM skills. This was the first time the course had been delivered outside of the UK/ Europe.

Elevate Offshore specialise in the provision of survey, ROV and inspection personnel to the offshore oil and gas, renewables, telecoms and power industries.
The course was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in central Kuala Lumpur, within the Lavender meeting room suite, providing superb support, training aids and Malaysian hospitality.
An Elevate hosted evening meal at the Serai Restaurant, Pavilion Shopping Mall within the Bukit Bintang area of KL, added to the 3-day training experience.


Subjects covered included – Professionalism, Communications, Continuity of actions, Document control, PM procedures & process (Prince 2 flow), Tendering & Commercials (best practise), Fit for purpose resourcing (vessels, equipment, personnel, software etc.), Client meetings & liaison, Client negotiations, Project legal/ contractual interaction & liaison, Department & management colleague liaison, Project preparations (kick off meetings client & internal, site visit, sub contractors meetings, audits etc.), Project HIRA/ Risk and QHSE liaison, Project pre job briefings/ inductions, PM project visibility, Project actions, Project daily interaction & liaison/ reporting and comms protocols (client, sub cons, offshore and office), Project schedule tracking & impacts, Project resource tracking, Project cost control & reporting, Project washups/ lessons learned.

The 10 (ten) attendees contributed to a wholly enjoyable overseas delivery experience across the 3 days with excellent interaction, focus and considerable sounding board/ discussion sessions throughout considering the required regional transfer of relevant PM & project based information.
