Survey Project Management Course conducted for ERM by S4
Suffolk Survey & Subsea Services (S4), an Innovatum Group Company, conducted a 3-day Survey Project Management Course this week with issued attendance Certificates for ERM staff across their Consents, Geoscience and Ecology teams/ departments – all looking to career progress or further their options into onshore project management.

The course was held at ERM’s Norwich office; No. 8, Thorpe Road, Norwich with No.8 providing excellent support, training aids and hospitality.
Subjects covered included – Professionalism, Communications, Continuity of actions, Document control, PM procedures & process (Prince 2 flow), Tendering & Commercials (best practise), Fit for purpose resourcing (vessels, equipment, personnel, software etc.), Client meetings & liaison, Client negotiations, Project legal/ contractual interaction & liaison, Department & management colleague liaison, Project preparations (kick off meetings client & internal, site visit, sub contractors meetings, audits etc.), Project HIRA/ Risk and QHSE liaison, Project pre job briefings/ inductions, PM project visibility, Project actions, Project daily interaction & liaison/ reporting and comms protocols (client, sub cons, offshore and office), Project schedule tracking & impacts, Project resource tracking, Project cost control & reporting, Project washups/ lessons learned.
The 7 (seven) attendees contributed to a very enjoyable lecturing experience over the 3 days with great interest/ focus and interactive sounding board/ discussion sessions throughout. All personnel were from a mix of Managing Consultant, Managing Technical Consultant, Marine Consultant and Consultant roles across the three teams of Consents, Geoscience and Ecology – with thanks to Phil Durrant/ Rob Langman for arranging and attendees Dr Raffaella Nobili, Lewis Aspin, Hannah Tilley, Joelle Way, James Duffy, Alex MacCallum and Grace Leyton-Smith.
